Hyundai Tucson Transmission Defect

Lemon law claims ladyHyundai owners have complained about problems and malfunction in the 2016 Hyundai Tucson.  A class action is being evaluated.    Recently the company  announced a recall of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson to fix a software problem that could disable acceleration.

One article suggests, the problem is rooted in the Tucson’s transmission control module, which was supplied by Dymos Incorporated that controls controls gear-shifting on the Tucson’s seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission.

“In higher ambient temperatures and specific operating conditions, the transmission clutch application logic can result in a delayed engagement when accelerating from a stop. If the accelerator pedal is steadily depressed for approximately 1.5 to 2 seconds, the vehicle will begin to accelerate and normal driving is resumed. However, if the accelerator pedal is repeatedly cycled, the vehicle will not accelerate.”  http://www.thecarconnection.com/
